The home of really cool yard art
Where is it? Byrd Farm is located in Forkland, Al near Demopolis, Al

What is it? This quirky little farm has the coolest yard art. My favorite is the giant tin man! The owner of this farm is so very kind and he allows people to pull over and check out the yard art. He pulled up as I was flying my drone and invited us to dinner that night! We never meet a stranger, so we happily obliged and joined him and his family for a sunset cookout over the Tombigbee River.
What else is there? There is also a wedding venue located on this farm that overlooks the Tombigbee River, with stunning views and a pool!
Anything else to do around here? The city of Demopolis isn’t far. It’s has a cute downtown area that’s been revitalized. There’a really pretty fountain in the town square that photographs well. It’s also very close to some beautiful old, homes and churches that date back to the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, all of which have been beautifully restored and maintained.
The Kirkwood mansion is close by in Eutaw, AL. This home is currently occupied, but you can drive by and see it.
There is a beautiful old Presbyterian Church that has beautiful Dogwoods blooming in the spring. It’s also pretty in the fall too.
The white cliffs of Eppes-sunrise is the best time to photograph these cliffs. Obviously, I missed that opportunity given the shot below. The sun rises and lights them up nicely. There is a shadow on them in the afternoon. This is true regardless of the time of year.
Each year ,on the first Saturday after Mother’s Day, you can show up at the Byrd farm and help refresh the yard art. Spray paint is provided. Some people camp out the night before or after. No reservations necessary. Just show up!
